A Lesson in Lesson Comprehesion - 20 Oct 2014

Dear Family,

What a tiring week full of blessings. i really enjoyed every part. We started off the week and finished the week with 7 days of record high temperatures and not a drop of rain. Ok I hear that the temperature in João Pessoa is higher but my companion from Fortaleza said he never lived in hotter weather. When we left the house at 1 o'clock after a lunch in the house. we looked to the horizon of the city and just saw white clouds of dried dust mixed with fires caused by pure heat. This heat has lasted a whole week and the prediction is that it will only get better tomorrow.

i also learned a great lesson this week. I had just about decided to cut a woman from our teaching list because she was not showing much interest and said she didn't want to be baptized. But then our leader did a division with us and managed to capture her attention teaching very clearly the steps of the gospel. instead of teach just the doctrine he took what she already new and added to it the fullness of the gospel. The restoration did not destroy the other churches on the earth. it Completed them. It is the Fullness of the gospel it needs to be taught as such. She went to church with us this Sunday, loved it and now has a baptismal date for here in two weeks.

The other Experience of the week was the largest and longest lunch i have ever had or will have again. We marked lunch with one of the other companionships investigators and they prepared a banquet. We ate huge amounts of rice and beans even though the drinks ran out and the family ran up and down the street getting ice from the neighbors. After filling ourselves she brought ice-cream to the table. We thought is was over at this point and started to leave a message. At this point the man of the house fainted because of the heat and we had to wait 40 minutes for him to recuperate. With the message completed she appeared out of no where with a huge cake. I was dying by the time we left that lunch.

Well. that was the week. I am feeling healthy and happy. I just realized that it has been a year since i was sick like really sick. Let´s hope I don't jinx it. haha

Love you all,
Andrew Jacobson
